The pre-fabrication of hate and anti-Somali sentiments in Hargreisa and the never-ending Human tragedy in South Somalia continue

In a simple language, if one talks to an ordinary Somali in Hargeisa, Burao or Borama today and ask how he or she thinks about the situation in which the vast majority of the people in south Somalia are brutally forced to live in for the last 15 years, they will express without any hesitation a touching humanistic sympathy and solidarity (of course with a certain degree of religious touch) with their humiliated brothers and sisters in South Somalia.

If you ask the same question any ordinary person in South Somalia about the living conditions of the Somalis in the North, they will emotionally recognize the autonomous peaceful and progressive achievements reached by the people in North Somalia. Both views reflect simply the different living conditions of our people without any enmity. The most interesting point in this context is the fact that the ordinary Somalis in the South are not aware of the fact that their brothers/Sisters in the North are about to break away from the rest of what was once the home of all Somali people. The reason for that is the fact that they are very disparate and literally tired without any prospective of peace and better living conditions in the near future.

The question arising from the contrast situation of Somalia is now who needs our solidarity? Those who managed to live in a peaceful oasis in North Somalia or those who are vegetating under the brutal and criminal law of the warlords. The answer is simple and that is at the same time what differentiates the north Somali unionist and the clan oriented fanatics in Hargeisa and their supporters in the Diaspora. Apart from the political situation and their more or less criminal actors in certain regions of South Somalia, our people in South Somalia need the solidarity of the North Somalis who are living today under admirable peaceful conditions. However, that basic humanistic and nationalistic altitude is not in the agenda of the clan fanatics and secessionist politicians in Hargeisa.

Our people in the South are too weak to be left alone. This is not the time to talk about secessionism in Somalia if at all one have a minimum degree of intellectuality, humanity and healthy nationalism. It is the time to save our people from tyranny and barbarism. It is time to wake up and make sure that the political elite in Hargeisa cannot establish another dictatorial regime in Somalia.

Due to their pathological clan fanaticism it is quite possible that the radicals in Hargeisa can lead us to another inferno in North Somalia. The political class in Hargeisa irresponsibly ignored and neglected too long their undisputable responsibility for the innocent and severing Somali people in the South. That alone shows the real inhuman characteristic of the Hargeisa political class, which the International community also knows. They are only much interested in creating undemocratic corrupted clan dominated slum.

Moreover, in Hargeisa today every minister spends approximately 100 USD in Khat daily and in Hargeisa Biyodhacay School, children uses empty NIDO milk cans as chairs while they are spending at the sometime couple of thousands of dollars for useless soldiers stationed in Sool and sanag of puntland. Independence cannot be achieved through crocodile crying in Westminster or through human expectation or dreams of a never ending fighting between as they call in Hargeisa the wild Somalis in Mogadishu, Marka or Kismayo which might bring the fanatics closer to their unrealistic independence.

The fanatic political secessionist movement in Hargeisa led by ex-Said Barre scholars has taken the people in north Somalia in what I call “Somaliland” hostage. With the help of primitive and ethic free media in Hargeisa, secessionist feeds our people with hateful slogans and unrealistic dream. Generations of innocent young Somalis became victim of hateful propaganda machinery in Hargeisa, which was once the most liberal town of Somalia. The present demagogic media landscape and the manipulation of the people in north Somalia reminds me the dark days of the Said Bare tyranny in the early 70th.

The hardcore tribalist political elite in Hargeisa carved the country into radical tribal blocks and the major political actors are possessed with hate, greed and hostility to other Somalis. The Hargeisa administration is claiming to be democratic yet they punish and arrest any one who stands and expresses freely his sympathy for the Somali unite.

In the cyber world, if you post simply your political concern about the Somali unity to the countless Somali webs, secessionist and aggressive cyber political hooligans will bomb you with hateful emails like the following which I received from one who is literally severing from what I can call “Somaliland syndrome” and I want to share it with all my fellow Somalis especially those who are from the North. Mean boy,

Scums like you must be suffering from a profound inferior complex for not belonging to the nobel and supreme nation of Reer Sheekh Isxaaq, who first came up with very idea of Somaliweyn back in the fivties, and sucrificed their independnce and freedom for that, you son of pigs.We proved to the whole world that we can win both war and peace, you pig. That is why the Republic of Somaliland will sooner or later be politically recognized, no matter what mean minor MIDGAAN like you say or do.Did I tell you that you are born loser, wasting his time in tirivial matters. You need to know that the failed state of Somalia is suffering from the eternal curse by the nobel nation of Reer Sheekh Isxaaq, because Somalis tried to destroy us but instead we defeated them for ever. What suprises me that you donot show the same jealousy and meanness about the independence of Jabouti, you inferior mean creature. maryam Faanle.

The major aim of making public this email is not that other fanatics use it against someone but to only demonstrate the dimension of hate and fanaticism in North Somalia and the political elite in Hargeisa alone are responsible for that.

Historically, in African and in international context, ethnic, religious or clan based movements led by reactionary elements and groups always resulted in a painful bloody civil war and the total collapse of national institutions in many developing countries. Afghanistan, Liberia, Rwanda, Siera-Leon, Congo, Ivory Coast and Somalia are prime examples of a man made political disaster and Hargeisa clan elite are on the best road to repeat that.

In Contrary to south Somali were bunches of bandits led by warlords dominate the streets and the daily life of the people, North Somalia went through relatively remarkable democratic process which manifested itself in local government, presidential and recently regional parliamentary elections. However, considering the clan oriented political class in Hargeisa I doubt that these concept less and vision less exercise was organized for the people as a way of living but for the international community.

In North Somalia hateful clan principals and backward religious indoctrination in the schools of the future generation is about to produce fanatic clan and religious secessionist radicals. That mix can only lead to a disaster sooner or later. Critical thinking, the peace conditions in North Somalia has one visible Father and that is the very limited resources in area which cannot create civil war between the clans like in lower/upper Shebelle or Banader region of South Somalia. Nevertheless, I highly recognize and support the peace coexistence of the people in north Somalia. Therefore, let stop lamenting about empty secessionism and fill the secessionism itself with healthy nationalism and realistic vision.
