The Minister of Homeland Security, a warlord, a businessman, a tribal Chief and a powerfull peacemaker/broker; Who is this Man? .
Undeniably, Mr.Qanyare is very visible with his oral capabilities, military strength and the full complete backing of his Tribe which is mostly absent from Somalia's warlords turned politicians. These reasons and many more are the center core of the enigma of Mohamed Qanyare Afrah which brought him in return a massive loss of great Alliances and friends as well. This great wing expansion put Mr.Qanyare on the verge of every friction possible ever since this Federal Government peace process begun in Kenya, Nairobi. Some even blame him totally for starting the flares of this endless ongoing Civilwar. Some say that he is a distraction, an obstacle and a turmoil for every hopeful government Somalia dreams of. Some say that he's a liberator, a great political mastermind of his time. Some of his great followers even think that he is a Hero, their hero. Is this true?, and if so how and why? To start with, let's examine how Mr.Qanyare came to emerge on the spotlight as a politician, a tribalman and a powerful warlord in the end. Mr.Qanyare came to Mogadisho in the mid 1991. He was exiled in the '70's and lived in Kenya with his siblings. His arrival to the greatest City of Somalia, Mogadisho was felt with joy. He suddenly became the noticeable power ranks of his tribe knowing that he had the reputation of supporting the Chairman of USC exiled "Mr Ali Wardhigley" . To his advantage, his negotiation techniques allowed Mr.Qanyare to be the chosen Chairman of the USC movement, the most powerfull guerrilla movement at the time. During the start of Ali Mahdi/Aided friction, Mr.Qanyare played a very crucial roles in keeping the two powerful men on the table. Could it be that it was part of his skills to manipulate the powers to be, or was it a keen and true gesture of honesty to keep the peace?. Only history will tell. As time went by the wrong way, the civilwar took it's turns and Mogadisho became the center of the battle once again. Mr.Qanyare's representation of the weak Ali Mahdi government put him into a hostile and a dangerous confrontation with the powerfull general Aided. This led into the demise of his Clan's peaceful coexistance with the Aided's. Qanyare and his defeated president 'AliMahdi' were pushed into the northern corners of Mogadisho. General Aided continued the assualt onto the bunkers of AliMahdi/Qanyare bases, taking war into their tribal regions, 'One grave mistake'. Mr.Qanyare exhibited the use of aggressive oral tactics and displayed General Aided as a blood thirst conquerer. This leaves the Ali Mahdi/Qanyare government as the true choice of the people, the Liberators . General Aided's side realized this was a no win war. It wasn't anymore a fight between two political gaints, but a tribal war and a fight between good and evil. Qanyare's sound of his oratory in part was what we call "Propaganda is half of the war itself". The art of spreading this messege was only for the purpose of promoting a negetive response, the messenger was Mr.Qanyare to his credit. It worked very well for the Ali Mahdi Government and started to regroup, open up an air strip "Cisiley", a port "Ceelmacaan" and a strong allied military militias to counter the ruthless marauding Aided's. This really saved up of what is to become right now the powerfull Mogadisho's Northern Tribes. In return, the sheer mere of the outcome was not equally shared by the man who thought of himself as the " EINSTEIN " of this still standing Ali Mahdi regime. All of the international Aid and Donation Agencies were only given to the Clansmen/women of Ali Mahdi people, thus knowing that Mr.Qanyare and his tribesmen suffered equally the same punishment 'if not more' and risked everything for the purpose of siding with this ill fated Ali Mahdi Government. This caused the loss of status, wealth and the belief of an old notion "The real Mogadishawi residents" on the part of Mr.Qanyare and his people. Knowing ALL is gone was not enough for Mr.Qanyare, but most importantly gone was the respect and trust taken for granted while being allies under attack. The departure of Mr.Qanyare to the Aided's Camp once again made headlines in the Somali political arenas. Making a partial political deal with the powerful General Aided indeed was a win win situation for both sides. The people of Aided's saw the raw talent of Mr.Qanyare and had neutralized it as an ineffective counterbalance tool for the Ali Mahdi Government. For many of his inner circle or followers as I may say, will tell you that this grave and dangerous departure was the best milestone political turn around for Mr.Qanyare personally and for his tribal background. The Ali Mahdi and his powerful alliance had been broken and conflict of interests emerged. Some might argue that Mr.Qanyare was the fueling cause of this conflict, and some might say that Mr.Qanyare went after what was best for him and the status of his tribe. It's however upon examining the motives of the two fighting giants 'Aided/Ali Mahdi' , that their similarities surfaced outright in the eyes of Mr.Qanyare and his people. Their motives were not friendly to Mr.Qanyare and his tribe, therefore their intentions were seen as an equal enemy waring tribes . It was during this time that Mr.Qanyare's political colors were seen as the wise move rather than previously thought. The slogan for Mr.Qanyare and his tribe was "A permanent interest, not a permanent friend" . It was obvious that Qanyare's tribe has regained it's status as a powerful resident of the most powerful city in the nation and at same time, held the most notoriously outspoken tribal leader/warlord as one of their sons. The Arta born peace initiative was one of the greatest achievements the Somali Civil Society had achieved and created during the civilwar. With the help of our brotherly Djibouti's president Omar Gelle , AbdiQasim Salad Government came to exist. Mr.Qanyare takes a lot of heat once again for the dismantlement of an already infant system. Whereas the Qanyare people will put the blame on the Top Executive Branch of the Government "Mr.AbdiQasim" for his lack of negotiating peacefully with his powerful subclan Warlords. The arguement is that the Capital City was taken hostage by these powerful warlords which caused the colapse of the AbdiQasim era. President AbdiQasim was also widely believed to have created an atmosphere of conflict between the Presidency on one side, versus the Prime Minister "Ali Qalif Galeyr" and the Head of the Parliament " Mr.Abdalla Derow Isaq" on the otherside. In the end, all of these factors helped bury deep the practicality of the AbdiQasim "Arta" Government. The TFG seems to be heading into the same direction, only god's miracle and mercy can save. Once again, the downfall of this government will be blamed on the two divided sides of th TFG's body. Mogadisho's Warlords group led by Mr.Qanyare and Muse Sudi Yalahow and the Jowhar group led by Prime Minister and the President's group. The major causes of the conflicts between the two ruling sides begun when Mr.Qanyare announced his candidacy to run for the highest position held in the Country, The presidency . Mr.Qanyare lobbied far more better than his most arch competitors except when push came to shove , the vote count headed into the direction of the Puntland Warlord and regional self-proclaimed president, Col.Abdullahi Yusuf . Now, Mr.Qanyare is on the lime light again confronting the two most powerful men of the TFG Government, the Prime Minister and the President. Both have tried to alienate this coming powerful lobbyist who had shown his military and a political influences in Somalia and in the feilds of Kenya, Nairobi as well. Having proven to be the Charismatic leader of his tribe, Group Eight and the third man on the race of the candidacy , Mr.Qanyare was infuriated by the mistreatment and the lack of respect from the President and the Prime Minister particularly, and marked his extreme anger to the TFG's governing body. Unlike the 'Arta' Government, the TFG was created by Warlord and for the Warlords inorder to give all of the powerful positions to the waring factions and their leaders. The expectation of this infant TFG's government was to take a positive baby steps and continue the creation of a peaceful dialogue. The outcome was to start the engine of the Somali transitional government inclusively. So far, the TFG's government did not accomplish none of that. Infact, the TFG is continuesly provoking systematic frictions which could lead the destruction of the Somali Republic in general and maybe a new front of armed conflict. Given the REPUTATION, if Mr.Qanyare has the power to distract and break every now and then government, then why not the Government itself attract men like Qanyare to fix and fasten the strengths of the government and cover up all of it's weaknesses.
