Garissa Governor Nathif Jama yesterday termed the investigations by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission “political witchhunt instigated by a well connected parliamentarian”.

He was at the Integrity Centre ahead of his court date next Thursday.

Jama alleged an MP from Garissa county is behind his woes.

“He has been opposed to my election. It is nothing to do with corruption because eight other counties also leased the same ambulances but have not been accused of corruption,” Jama said yesterday shortly after leaving the Integrity Centre.

On Thursday, DPP Keriako Tobiko recommended that EACC chargeJama over the leasing of ambulances from Emergency Plus Medical Services, a company fully owned by the Kenya Red Cross.
