Refugees in Kenya create $56m per annum business industry

While the common view of refugee camps is one of misery and poverty, in some, at least, things are a little different.

But in Kenya, refugees living in one camp are thriving on their own after setting up their own businesses.

The Kakuma camp is now generating $56 million a year,

Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp is home to more than 185,000 people who’ve fled war in neighbouring countries like Sudan, and Somalia.
