The son of prominent Dutch politician Arnoud van Doorn accepted Islam during the recent Dubai International Peace Convention – Doorn was once a harsh critic of Islam and was involved in the highly controversial anti-Islam film ‘Fitna’ before becoming a Muslim a few years back.The joyous father took to Twitter to announce his son Iskander de Vries’ conversion to Islam, tweeting the official certificate:

Van Doorn was a former member of the Geert Wilders anti-Islam right wing Dutch Party for Freedom. Wilders was the man behind the 2008 anti-Islam film, ‘Fitna’.

During his Hajj pilgrimage in 2013, talking to Saudi Arabian daily Saudi Gazette, Van Doorn had said that he bitterly regrets having taken part in the production of Fitna (Sedition), adding he was in the holy sites to atone for his sins.
Van Doorn had said he will produce a new film that will show the true essence of Islam and the correct personality of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
He currently serves as President of the European Dawah Foundation and Ambassador of Celebrity Relations for Canadian Dawah Association in Europe.
